JOHN LAURENCE, S.J.
Visiting Lecturer
Fr. Laurence is Chair of
the Department of Theology at Marquette University, and holds a Ph.D.,
from the University of Notre Dame, 1983) and specializes in the theology
and history of Christian liturgy. Author of 'Priest' as Type of
Christ (1984), and editor of edited four others. His scholarly
articles include "The Eucharist as Imitation of Christ,"
Theological Studies, "The Assembly as Liturgical Symbol,"
Louvain Studies, "Catherine Bell and Liturgical Theology,"
Antiphon ; and "The Eucharist and Eucharistic Adoration,"
Louvain Studies, along with numerous book reviews. He is currently
editing volumes in the Lex Orandi series on the sacraments
(Liturgical Press) for which he also engaged in writing the
Eucharist volume. He has recently been named the Chair of the
Department.
