Summer faculty  2009:

Fr. John Laurence,  is Chair of the Department of Theology at Marquette University, and holds a Ph.D., from the University of Notre Dame, 1983) and specializes in the theology and history of Christian liturgy. Author of 'Priest' as Type of Christ (1984), and editor of edited four others. His scholarly articles include  "The Eucharist as Imitation of Christ," Theological Studies, "The Assembly as Liturgical Symbol," Louvain Studies,  "Catherine Bell and Liturgical Theology," Antiphon ; and "The Eucharist and Eucharistic Adoration," Louvain Studies, along with numerous book reviews. He is currently editing volumes in the Lex Orandi series on the sacraments (Liturgical Press) for which he also engaged in writing the Eucharist volume. He has recently been named the Chair of the Department.
 

Sr. Sara Butler teaches dogmatic theology at St. Joseph's Seminary in the Archdiocese of New York after teaching at Mundelein Seminary in Chicago for over 20 years. She recently published The Catholic Priesthood and Women: A Guide to the Teaching of the Church (Hillenbrand Books).  Her articles have appeared in Worship, The Thomist, Theological Studies, Theology Digest, Anglican Theological Review, Communio, Ephemerides Mariologicae, Chicago Studies, and the New Catholic Encyclopedia.  In 2004 she was appointed to the International Theological Commission, and she has served on the Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission since 1991.

Dr. Lynne Boughton holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a visiting lecturer a the Liturgical Institute and a contributor to Westminster Theological Journal, Church History, Journal of Religion, Journal of the Pontifical Academy of Theology, Tyndale Bulletin, Irish Theological Quarterly, The Thomist, and Revue biblique, in which she recently published “The Priestly Perspective of the Johannine Trial Narratives: Why The Gospel of John is Neither Anti-Jewish Nor Anti-Temple.”
